The Clean & Sober Dilemma

One of the major dilemmas of the recovering addict/alcoholic is to attempt recovery in an unsafe environment. Those who have completed treatment programs require a safe environment afterwards to carry on with their program. Addicts/alcoholics that are not in a safe environment are in a very dangerous life threatening situation that will make recovery difficult, if attainable at all.

Our Clean and Sober Concept

We want to offer affordable housing and a Clean and Sober environment to those who are recovering from Alcoholism and Drug Addiction. CSTL, Inc has developed a two phase concept that has proven to be very successful with an unusually high success rate.
Our concept is unique. We house people together in different stages of their recovery which tends to create a very strong peer group for support and a very impressive low cost. Our program strictly embraces twelve-step programs stressing and expecting resident participation and abstinence of all mind altering substances. Since 1989 we have provided transitional living for adults who desire a life of recovery. The residents are actively involved in the government and operation of the organization.

We do not have a 'black out' which allows the residents to become self supportive. Each resident is required to attend a weekly house meeting and four other 12 Step meetings.The length of stay depends upon the needs of each individual. We embrace AA and NA and requires residents to be an active member in those programs.

Residents have 17 homes to choose from. All homes are fully furnished; including utilities and cable TV. Every home has a house manager. Phase I consists of six homes in a row, a recovery community. No deposit required. The following is furnished for those in Phase I; food, toiletries, recreation room, weights, dinner is cooked for the residents, and wireless Internet. Residents have a curfew and may take over night passes. In the Phase II residents will have a single room and supply their own food and toiletries.

The Contract: Residents enter into a contract agreeing not to drink or use while living at a Clean & Sober Transitional Living. Relapse, acts of violence, sexual misconduct and immoral behavior are reasons for immediate termination. Random drug and alcohol tests are administered. All residents are expected to be employed or seeking employment and maintaining a lifestyle that is conducive to recovery.
